Salary: £13.85
Working Hours: 27 hours pw 3 days over period Wednesday – Saturday

Quince Bakery are looking for a committed professional to join their team of their quality and produce led business. Applicants should display a keen interest in cooking, food sourcing and production. Experience in a retail environment is preferable but we would happily consider someone wanting to move from  a restaurant/bar/cafe environment. Barista experience is required.

This is a junior role so training will be given where necessary. Passion, curiosity and work ethic are more desirable qualities than years of experience.

Principle Duties:

  • Support the daily running of Quince Bakery by following assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Display keen interest in baking, natural wine and responsible farming
  • Responsible for maintaining appearance, cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery
  • Delivering high standards of customer service and hospitality with accurate product information
  • Making hot drinks
  • Customer service and hospitality
  • Some food prep under the guidance of the kitchen team

Support with the general running of the business will be expected. These tasks will include supporting the kitchen team with production when necessary, assisting with making sandwiches and other small production tasks, cleaning, involvement with events and workshops.

Quince Bakery produce sourdough breads made exclusively with UK grown stoneground flour from a short and known supply chain. Bread is at the heart of the business, it cements our relationship with the neighbourhood by offering daily fresh bread to residents and visitors alike. There is a counter filled with sweet and savoury bakes, excellent coffee, a small selection of conscientiously curated wines and a retail space filled with items produced by independent makers whose values match Quince Bakery’s.

All of Quince’s products are made with ingredients with integrity and crucially made to be as delicious as they can possibly be: flour from Landrace Milling, nuts from Food & Forest, fruit picked at Maynards Farm, and cheeses from Neals Yard Dairy.
