Role: Cafe chef : clementine

Working Hours: full and part time roles available Wednesday – Monday
Clementine are looking for a committed professional to join their team in the upcoming opening of their quality and produce led cafe. Applicants should display a keen interest in cooking (sweet and savoury), food sourcing and production. Some kitchen experience is needed as this role will require independent working and time management. Passion, curiosity and work ethic are more desirable qualities than years of experience.
The main function of this role will include the following responsibilities:
- Daily service and food production
- Prep shifts at Quince Bakery to produce Tattie scones, crumpets etc
- Contributing to menus and culinary vocabulary of the cafe
- Making inhouse ferments, jams, preserves and cordials
Support with the general running of the business will be expected. These tasks will include supporting the FOH team with customer service when necessary, assisting with making coffees, cleaning, involvement with events and workshops.
Clementine will be a neighbourhood cafe open Wednesday to Sunday during the day. We will serve breakfast, elevenses and lunch and be open for coffee into the afternoons. Quince Bakery will supply Clementine with sourdough breads made exclusively with UK grown stoneground flour from a short and known supply chain. Bread is at the heart of the established business and the new cafe. The cafe’s menu will lean into the British, Scottish and Irish cooking traditions we have become known for. The goal is to build on the well established neighbourhood relationships the bakery has already built further anchoring us into the community on New North Road. We want to be accessible and usable multiple times a week for all our customers.
